Indulge Your Mind Body & Soul At The Rainforest Spa

For most of us a trip to the beautician or spa is a combination of a little body maintenance and an hour or two to escape from the rest of the world. Soft music might play as your treatment is in action, finally you have a space and time to imagine yourself drifting away… to some exotic location, full of blue seas, warm breezes and lush green forests. Wouldn’t that be lovely?

At the Rainforest Spa at Koro Sun Resort they have made your visions of this escape a reality. Those birds sounds are real, trickling waterfalls actually cascade down the mountain beside your treatment room.

The Koro Sun Rainforest Spa is nestled deep in virgin rainforest. There is nothing to remind you of the real world here. You are in nature’s paradise. This spa is not a quick fix. It is a totally immersive experience, focused on enriching your mind, body and soul.

The three Spa bures are set back in the Koro Sun Resorts’s very own tropical rainforest. They are hidden from view. Your booking starts with a small buggy trip that transports you to the edge of the rainforest. Here you will take a short stroll along the path to the Spa Bures. These bures were specifically built as treatment rooms. The large circular windows allow you to take in the spectacular display outside.

As you slip your shoes off and slide onto the massage tables your indulgence is delivered in true Fijian style, welcoming, respectful and relaxed. The spa offers a range of treatments, many unique to the Koro Sun Resort. All have a Fijian content. This usually means that most of the products are organic and often extracted from produce grown at the resort. Ingredients such a dilo cream, coconut oil, papaya and seaweed are used in many of the treatments.

The legendary treatment is the famous ‘Banana Leaf Body Wrap’. This includes a brown sugar full body scrub followed by a seaweed and clay mineral detox cleanse before your Leaf Wrap. You will have passed the banana trees on your way to the spa that supply the leaves for your wrap. When they say wrap, they mean a full body one. You will become a banana leaf sandwich! Encased in banana leaves your body warmth will soak up all of those delicious ingredients. Your skin will be in heaven. After your wrap your treatment ends in a full body massage in pure virgin coconut oil. You can choose to have this treatment for one and a half or two hours. It is truly a restorative experience for all the senses.

There are many other treatments on offer also. The Fijian Bobo massage utilises traditional rhythmic motion and deep muscle massage techniques. The after sun treatment uses the oil extracted from the dilo fruit. Known as the ‘tree of a thousand virtues’. It will rescue and rejuvenate dry skin and has a healing affect on skin irritations such as sunburn.

For the romantics there is a couples massage. Two experienced therapists provide your treatments at the same time so that you can enjoy them together. (This is a great gift for the Honeymooners). Other treatments available include scrubs, facials, manicure and pedicures, and all have a tropical twist.

Many guests claim a trip to the Rainforest Spa was one of the highlights of their stay. And for those of you who aren’t really into all that beauty stuff, you can get a sample of how good it makes you feel the moment you step into the resort. All guests receive a free coconut foot massage upon entry. Remember how great that makes you feel and times it but one hundred…That’s how good it feels after a treatment at the Rainforest Spa.
