UNBELIEVABLE DIVING – EXPERIENCE FIJI’S BEAUTY BEYOND THE SURFACE

It’s hard not to be impressed by the sparkle of the Fijian waters. Warm temperatures and crystal clear seas make for a spectacular start to any tropical getaway. But it is those travelers who decide to dive beyond the ocean’s surface that discover what defines Fiji’s underwater wonderland as one of the best diving spots in the world. Here are the Top 5 Dive Sites in Savusavu.

Namena Divers

The area of Savusavu on the island of Vanua Levu, hosts many great and reputable dive companies, but only one leaves right from your doorstep. When you stay at the Koro Sun Rainforest and Spa Resort you have the real reef experts coming to you. Namena Divers are situated within the complex on the foreshore. Most of their tours depart from the Resort Marina.

They offer the full range of dive programs starting from introduction courses in the pool to Dive Master and Specialty Certifications. The PADI certified and SCUBA diving operation have a fully equipped dive shop so you can get kitted up once you arrive and head out to sea in their custom-built dive boats.

One of the great drawcards for divers to this area is the Namena Marine Reserve. This 70 square kilometer stretch lies between the two main islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Established in 1997 it is home to many endemic and rare species of fish, invertebrae and coral. Sharks, groupers, tuna, and schools of barracuda swim abundantly throughout what is called the Namena Barrier Reef. The astounding biodiversity includes the only known humpback whale carf site in Fiji.
